Stroke, the hidden enemy and the third leading cause of death

A stroke or stroke happens when you disrupt the flow of blood to the brain. When a stroke, an area of \u200b\u200bthe brain starts to die because they stop getting oxygen and nutrients it needs to function. There are two main types of stroke. The first, called ischemic stroke, is caused by a clot that blocks or plugs a blood vessel in the brain. Approximately 80% of all strokes are ischemic. The second, called hemorrhagic stroke (stroke) is caused by the rupture and bleeding of a blood vessel in the brain. Approximately 20% of all strokes are hemorrhagic.

Del ischemic stroke, the vast majority of patients can survive this but left with sequelae such as loss of mobility 50% or less of their body, which have occasionally the thrombosis commonly known, is why many people prefer to let patients die than prolong these conditions deprorable state, in large majority to which they must pass the remainder of his life in a bed being cared for by nurses (as) and / or family members who must ensure these key requirements, this decision is that very few people are willing to accept either the economic or social situation that entails.

In the second case, a hemorrhagic stroke, the people have a pretty slim chance of survival, because in this case the patient receives blood supply to parts of the brain or in the great majority, leading to death of neurons that as we all know are the only cells that can not be regenerated, which produces the well-known case of brain death would lead to a vegetative state, where the vast majority of people prefer to leave their loved ones die but not observe any improvement, nor any prospect of improvement. Currently an investigation is being conducted that seeks to "analyze the brain's response to the language of a group of trauma patients in a vegetative state or minimally responsive, examined by functional magnetic resonance technique," adds Carmen Junqué, principal investigator of the project undertaken at the University of Barcelona (UB), until 2010 we know the results but so far there has been improvement in some isolated cases.
This was a research process por mi, las unicas referencias bibliograficas se observan en el link y en la autoria de la investigacion de pacientes en estado vegetativo. Si quieres ampliar te puedes remitir a la pagina de internet antes mencionada
